LE COUCOU

Le Coucou is one of four Starr restaurants that we have designed and outfit seasonally to reflect the classic, old world approach to French cuisine under the design and direction of Chef Daniel Rose. Here, we try continuously to reinforce the narrative and design outlook of the award winning design team, Roman & Williams.  We consider ourselves very fortunate to have collaborated on many projects with Roman & Williams.  The interior is opulent and classic, and we wanted to convey that sense of grandeur in the facade plantings with the dual intention of screening the interior experience from the busy exterior street life.  Diners looking out, peer through a lush mix of Hydrangea, Elderberry, Winter Hardy Jasmine, and lots of trees that provide cover for migrating birds.  We like to see it as a slice of woodland edge somewhere out in the french countryside.
